Hello Everybody! This is the last day of 2003 and it just doesn't seem like it at all to me. New Years just doesn't hold the significance to me as it did when I was younger. We had celebrations at home. My parents often went out to celebrate but came home before midnight and brought hats and noisemakers. I particularly recall the round metal noisemakers which had a handle. You held tight to the handle and would twirl the round section. It made quite a racket. We would open the windows and holler "Happy New Year!" Then we would call anybody who might possibly be up and wish them a happy new year too. Over the years the family has slimmed down in number and have started traditions of their own. Seems in these past few years it takes all my strength to stay up until midnight. I do recall, though, the good times we had and perhaps that is where it needs to be for me now. So much is going on in this world and the most I can hope for is a happy new year for all. And in some way perhaps I can do something to help others have a happy new year too.

The Tri-Write-Club wants to wish all of you a very Happy Holiday and a most promising New Year! Yours truly is now taking a writing course to get in touch with my genre....whatever it may be...as soon as I figure that out I will let you know. I took advantage of the free audio post. Of course I would find it when I have a cold so it may sound somewhat sluggish. Will re-record when I am more clear throated. (12/31/03-Well I would have if I had the access-oh well)...

My sister is here visiting this week. It is such a joy to have her around and I am sure our Father is loving it! We went to see the movie "Elf" yesterday. It was just o.k. kind of cute but I can surely see why it was rated PG...hmmm The tights were...uh...err..."tight" and Elf's coat should have been longer. Oh my... Everytime he came on the screen I started laughing at his obvious "happiness." Go Elf! wink wink
